Living in Los Angeles, one sees celebrities with a certain frequency. Often high-quality celebrities. The same is true in New York, London, and perhaps a few other places. Maybe Paris. In Paris, of course, the celebrities tend to be of the Karl Lagerfeld variety. Like so much about France, French celebrities sound amusing, but in fact are hard to identify; have a tired quality; and an ineffable, but lingering smell of death.   more »
